18 about to be 19. Bought a F-150 Supercrew when I was 17. Traded in on the S. I pay for everything myself. Working 60+ hours a week without a car = being able to buy what you want. GPW Tan -

My priorities may be ed up, but hey, I enjoy every moment I'm in my car, and if I can't afford anything but frozen dinners, so be it... I've still got cash for gas!
Well my story is:

bought mine 3 days after I turned 21. Was going to college right before then but was not happy and decided to not go back the next year. Got a job as a contractor at a university hospital IT dept. Father co-signed with me because I did not have much credit at the time (but I make all the payments, insurance, gas, maintainence. my father lives in another state now). 3 months after working there they let me go, and a month later I started working at a state government agency. Been here for 2.5 years doing database administration stuff. Got my job at the right time because the person before me had just quit a week or 2 prior and I had a friend here my brother knew, and I called him up and he said they had an opening and told me how to apply. Got a response a week or 2 later for an interview. Did that and a couple of weeks after that they called me and said I could start on the 1st of the month. Been here ever since I now own a house ($700 a month, houses are cheap in mississippi), but have a roommate and the S is my only car. When I need a big item moved, my mom has a truck, and I have a couple of friends with trucks as well.

17, 18 in September, been working since I was 12. Saved up 25K, and bought an 02. I pay for gas, insurance, and college, if you don't pay for things yourself you don't appreciate them half as much.

Got mine at 29. I act like I'm 16 though, still pick up the skateboard now and again. But I feel like I'm 50 (worry constantly about money, my job, retirement savings, and mortgage payments).
