Also got mine when i was 17. I began driving when i was 16 though with my 98 Accord.

One thing i hate about having such a wonderful piece of machinery is that too many ppl are haters. They think a 17 year old cant have such a car and respect it. I see them looking at me with my top down crusing and trying to talk smack and hate. They think theres no way i can drive the S, and seeing me in it makes them think they should drive a ferrari. I dont let it get it to me but when i attended a meet with some members is when i really got pissed off. I thought it would be a kool experience to make new friends, to really get to know other owners but i was really disappointed. Maybe it was just me, but i was cast like an outsider who was ingored most of the time unless i attempted to spark a converstation. Frankly most ppl were fake cocky assholes who used my age and how young i looked against me. Not trying to say all of them are but most are. I only met a few who took me seriously and respected me. I was left with a shitty experience about them and their affilliation to s2ki.
lol i noe exactly wat your saying...

Thats what i thought would happen if i ever go to a meet. I guess its true... By the way im 16 and got the s2k 3 months after my bday.

Its all relitive some 18-18 year olds that are handed things show no respect for what they have but some do. Im 18 and have loads of respect for my car, and many other things that i have not purchased myself. But i do think getting one a 16 is a tad bit dangerous. At least i knew how to drive mine.

What about the youngest owner?

I see a lot of posted "youngest driver."

But who is the youngest OWNER?

I'm talking: going to dealer without mommy or daddy, writing your own check and looking at that TITLE that says Honda S2000 and YOUR NAME....

working in the family business from 12 years old is how i did it dut. i saved up enough by the age of 16 to pay for everything except for $7,000 (i got it when the car had a premium, so that money went ALL to the premium). my parents gave me that 7.

I think it has more to do with your age difference than people "hating" a young guy with an S2K. I'm 28 now and I have a hard time talking/relating to 18-20 year old guys that I work with. And I don't know why, but whenever I try to not sound condescending it never works out. Sometimes it is just awkward.

But it is great that you can asses people so fast and know what they are thinking from a look. You should go into psychology, you'd make a killing in that field.

Looking back from 30, I wouldnt have wanted it any different.
if this is true

I just got mine this past Friday and I'm 20. I saved up for 2 years though, working full time and going to school full time. Was able to put $4,000 down on the car.. but insurance and car note is still $700/month. It's OK though 'cause I'm doing it all on my own, which feels 10 times better than having everything paid for by mommy and daddy.
