Trust us kids. If you drive an S and you are under 18, you are freakin spoiled. I'm not knockin it. I was spoiled by my wonderful parents, you just need to accept it and move on. Aside from the rare super genius who owns his own multinational at 16, there is just no freakin way a normal 16 year old can afford this car. I know, I was 16 once too. As soon as I turned 16 I got a job that I worked every spare chance I had. I made squat. There is just no way in hell a kid that young can save up that kinda cash in the time allowed. Not to mention the insurance. I'm guessing you guys don't pay that because I make what is considered by most to be a VERY decent living and I still go bug eyed when I see my insurance bill. I have one ticket on my record from 4 years ago (pre S2k) and have never filed a claim. I can't IMAGINE what the rates would be for a 16 year old guy. If you know how much is shelled out, I hope you are kissing your parents a$$es daily. If you don't know, I suggest you go ask them and you will hopefully have a whole new respect for them and will start to kiss their butts more often.

I'm 17 (18 in August), and if you don't believe any one under the age of 18 can afford this car you are mistaking. No offense or anything here, but I have had a steady job at a local car garage since age 14 with a big picture of a S2000 on my wall for 2 years, when the time came i bought my MY00 S2000 for $16,000, I had saved $6,000 by then and had put $5,000 down and taken out a four year loan from my bank. My payments are about $330/month, and I make roughly $1050/month during summer and $700/month during the school year. It's been almost 2 years and I still havn't missed a single payment. Although I am very fortunate, for my parents pay 50% of my insurance, my insurance rates are low due to my neighbor being my agent, and an impressive trans script with a 4.0 GPA, and a good disciplinary record. I still have no regrets and if I could still do it all over again I would. This is what I have wanted since I was 12. My S2000 IS titled under my name.

So to all of you hard working teenagers whom can pay for it yourself and follow your dreams, and to all of the others whom mom or dad bought it for you i would love to be in your shoes, for if your parents make a good living then go ahead, just be smart when it comes to driving, and when mom tells you to clean your room, just clean it.

Maybe so. But you still live at home where everything else is PAID FOR. Like Rent, food, utilities, cable, internet, and the list goes on and on.

And i am very fortunate for that. Supporting your family is part of life, and in some countries (like ours) it's standard. Buying your child a $16,000 used, let alone $32,000 new car isn't.
