I think this car is much safer than many others kids can afford. 240 hp is no joke, but it isn't hard to handle. This is coming from a kid who drives a 800-900 hp supra though.
Good point, I dont find the car hard to handle either.

Niiiiiiiiiiiiiiice........ And hey Moyopoyo, you're argument makes no sense. MOney has nothing to do with it....it is more the safety factor. Hell...if you've got the money then get your kids a safer expensive car like a Bimmer 330xi or Benz 320 or hell why not a Volvo S60. Decent cars with enough gawk factor, yet can properly protect an eventual idiot move from children behind the wheel.

And all you 16/17 year old Schumachers out there...no the s2000 is not hard to handle....but act stupid with it by trying to impress your buddies and it will bite you in the ass.

I'm not being a hater...rather just getting sick and tired of all these high school idiots driving like they own the road and have total disregard for fellow motorists/pedestrians. I'm 29 years old, by no means and old fogie, but it really irks me when I see these punks driving like morons in their civics....I get chills thinking of these kids driving more powerful cars.

I think it has more to do with maturity than age. I know some pretty immature 35 year olds with hot cars who make my cringe when I think of them on the road. Mind you, statistically, a 16 year old is more likely to be more immature and therefore more of a menace driving a car like the S, however immaturity at any age will inevitably have the same effect.

I am sorry, but I can't help but become irritated with some of the responses on this thread. I am 20, and got my baby ( 03 spa ) about a month ago. I have a shiteload ( Scottish slang, NOT a spelling error for those pricks on this thread who would like to correct me with their infinite wisdom ) of cash tied up in parts on their way from Japan. I did not buy this car for myself, nor the parts. It was my family's way of buying me out of a career in racing. I don't feel that I've "earned" the car, though I have had more expensive cars in the past. I look at it just as it is, a beautiful machine that was basically given to me as a bribe for something which my parents thought would end my life. I love it to death, and prefer it over many other high end sports cars. I did not ask for it, but was delighted to receive it. As for being a more irresponsible driver, I can see that...( but most definitely not coming from a dimwitted 24 Y.O. with an inferiority complex ) but behind my jack ass-esque driving are several trips to advanced driving schools and the teachings of my father ( a retired race car driver ). Unfortunately, I can say without a doubt that I have more experience driving and a more developed technique than that of many ( not all of course ) drivers 10 or more years older than me. I am not condoning the fact that kids who just got their license are driving around in this car, but when I was their age I had a Saleen with 350 HP and RWD. Not everyone has such extravagance thrown at them, and it may be natural to envy if it pushes you to accomplish something, but I find the way this thread has developed as being redundant. Who cares? The question was how old are the people on this board, not "what do the arrogant, all knowing, better than thou jerk-offs think about a bunch of kids driving around in a car that we have feel about it?"
