I have hit 135 on the HOV in DC. Not in an S2000 though. No there were no cars around so the only one I would've deleted is myself.
Hahaha! Thats a good spot! Theres two barriers so you cant hurt anyone else! Ive done a nice topspeed run there also! Just be careful sometimes pigs hang out at the bottom of the hill near Duke street.

Darwin FTW.

Good work, folks -- hopefully you won't take out an innocent bystander or motorists when you wreck at a buck twenty.

I don't see how that's possible. Fuel cut is 8600? Or did you raise it? I thought AP-2 was like 8200..

Straight line haters
I guess it's either corners or straights, I can't have both? Isn't that what the S is about, straight line speed
KW supercharger...

129 indicated entering Turn 1 at Texas World Speedway.
160 indicated at the same place, but on the bike.

Top speed certainly still has a thrill at times, but its not so much a big deal any more.

I'm Cpt. Slow then. The fastest I've ever driven a car was 120 something, and that was the one and only time I took my WRX (1st gen US one, sold in 05) to a large oval track.

Everything else was auto-x 1-2 cone eating (and I only did that a few times).

Now I drive like a 65 year old pregnant nun on the freeway. (I guess my point is that if a nun that old got pregger, she'd be all conservative about driving and stuff.)

I had a four hour freeway trip today and got passed by a rental truck. So there.

When you meet someone who never does anything stuipid, you have met either a liar, or a fool.

i was doing like 138 give or take, when i hit a cactus. the hit was off center so it spun the car and about 130 degrees or so into the turn the rear wheel dug into the ground and the front end said hello to the heavens.
you know how your mind slows things down in such situations? well in a matter of seconds these thoughts came into my head: i don't have GAP insurance, will it buff right out? lol j/k, wish i had On Star, mom is gonna be mad at me, dieing won't be too bad.

all i remember was the canyon drops about 20,000 feet to river bottom.

so 138mph + gravity + 20,000 ft drop......... i've gone 443mph when i hit bottom.
in an s2000.
top down.

^^^^^^
and then you woke up right?

i would bet money theres nowhere 20k feet up that a cactus would be growing, mt. everest is 29k feet high, and the grand canyon is only about a mile deep (appx. 5k feet)

either im way misunderstanding your story or you forgot to say 'then i woke up' at the end.

either way if it was possible that you were driving in these conditions, you wouldnt be here to tell that story if you dropped 20k feet in your car to a river bottom
