I never understood top speed runs. If I want flat out speed, I'll take an airplane. Speed is all relative anyway. 135mph in an S is nothing. What's intense is hard braking just the right amount at the right time from 135 mph then late apexing a 80* turn at 55mph while trying to hit the outside rumble strip but not going into the gravel trap.
Exactly. Top speed runs have all the risk and none of the skill challenge. Not my deal. Figuring out how to go 75 through a corner that you now take at 70 every lap is much more interesting than just pushing the gas pedal to floor and pointing the car straight for a really long time.

I've probably only done about ~105 in the S2000 during a quick burst. I don't like going that fast as it's dangerous and just a waste of fuel. Not to mention, there really isn't enough space to do that on my commute, and the places that there is open road, it only takes 1 pothole or 1 cop waiting in the median to really #### you. (not worth it)

I stick to going around 75 cruising or the speed limit.

The fastest I've ever done is 145 MPH in my VW.

watever fuel cut off is on and stock ap2, well not exactly stock, i/h/e/tp. i was looking for cops, didn' find any, so i couldn't pay attention. but that wat about 3 years ago when i was still stupid and had my first sports car. now i dont even dare to speed. i'm the guy who would drive 5 miles under the speed limit on the freeway just to get my 32 mpg. but on the meets in the mountain i know how to open her up!!!

p.s. the only thing that scared the living sh*t out of me was the braking from whatever i was going( looked down when i let go of the gas and then saw 149) to like 70.

Top down: fuel cut in 5th, ~140.

Top up: 157 according to the speedo.

Everyone knows driving this fast, or racing, on a public road is dangerous. You don't need to post that up every time a thread like this is made. People are going to do it anyway and there is nothing you can do to stop it.

As long as people do stupid things in cars, I'm going to call them stupid. I know I can't stop (all of) them. But they can't stop me either.

No one is trying to stop you.. I was simply pointing out that you're wasting your time.
