02 sensor?
The O2 sensor on the catalytic converter. Does this sensor read the air fuel mixture and the computer regulates to keep the car at optimal levels??
If I put a test pipe in with my new exhaust will eliminating this sensor be a big problem?
I have the full catback exhaust system from Invidia that I ordered and also the test pipe. The people at Honda told me that if I run the test pipe the computer will not be able to read the air fuel mixture at this point.
But I think they were just trying to keep me from going without the cat. Is what they were saying about it true?
Seems like it would just be a flow sensor or something. Because there is a way to put it further back and still mount it into the testpipe and the cars engine light will not come on.
Its a 2006 S2k.
Thanks
1. Search is your friend. Use it.
2. Test pipe is illegal.
3. If you run a test pipe, don't cry if Honda gives you a lot of hassle.
4. You're talking about the secondary oxygen sensor. Doesn't affect performance.
5. The primary oxygen sensor (pre-cat) is necessary for fuel trim.
6. Comptech SC will be hard to find with your 06.
7. Search is your friend. Use it.

Jumpin Jimmony Christmas...
if you ask a question in the under the hood section of the forum you get flack and someone tells you... search is your friend, search is your friend.

Thanks for the good advice kind sir!
I will be sure to thoroughly search all questions before asking them.

Kind of defeats the purpose of a discussion forum doesnt it?
Hate to put you to any trouble relaying some info about an 02 sensor now.
Why give advice... then try to look down your nose and snub somebody?
Personally I dont get it.
But thats why I never muched liked these forums.
Too many: know it all, highfalutin internet snobs.

Does it hurt to do a little search? Everyone seems to want to be spoon fed info nowadays. If you did search you'd be able to find this in the sticky section just above the main section. It does say ***read first***
