Hi All,
I had a CEL immediately after the AEM V2 install, and after reading numerous posts and spending several hours and trying out several combinations of the vacuum lines and the check valve orientation I found out that one the vacuum hoses that go into the air solenoid control valve were crossed, i have everything set correctly for the past week or so ( I checked with an other member last week with cars side by side) , but still the CEL keeps coming on on every cold start, anyway I was wondering if I could know the following before proceeding further, note I also already replaced the two 5/32'' hoses aem provided with new ones ...
1) could I have damaged the check valve (that little white plastic thing) itself when I had it in the wrong direction for a day or two, I ask because I was able to blow air in one direction with my mouth before I had it backwards and now I am NOT able to blow air in any direction no matter how hard I try, is this normal ?..
2) when I unplug the Vacuum hose that goes from the top of the fuel rail to the check valve ( left mode end of hose # 8 in the picture) , I see the hose is sucking in air, is that normal ? , I can also hear a hissing noise from the same hose ...
Please help, as this has really been annoying me for the past 2 weeks, if the check vavle is OK, then according to the service manual and reading several posts, the following would be the next to try I guess
1) air control solenoid valve is bad
2) if thats ok, then may be the ECU needs replacing
3) or the air pump or the air pump relay would have gone bad ...
What is perplexing is that why would #1, #2, #3 have been afftected when they were not touched during the install.

I had the same problem after my install, after finding that i had 2 vacuum lines crossed the light still came on, but stopped after a few days. I can't explain why but maybe give it a few days if you are sure that the lines are in the correct place now.
Not sure why it was one way valve before and then turned into a "no way valve" , do you think putting it in the wrong direction would have messed it up ?

Could this be the result of that potentially bad check valve ?
Same thing happened to me after I installed My V2. I swapped the vacuum lines into their correct positions and reset my CEL; everything worked as advertised after that....
hmm strange, i checked again just a few minutes ago, and I was able to blow air from one side of the check valve, I am guessing last time when I took this out I did it while the engine was running, so that might have potentially blocked the valve ( I know its a vague ass theory, but thats what I can think of ) , anyway I have to wait until the car cools down again to see if the PITA CEL comes back again ...
