Road and Track compared the new 350Z and the S2000 this month. The S2000 won all performance categories, split the subjective bs, and won overall.
It out accelerates, out slaloms, out laps the 350Z convertible.

Not too bad for such an under powered car with a 4 year old design!!!

BTW I love how the Z looks. It's just a bit bloated for the track.

I do agree, the 350Z is a little heavy !! Its like 3250 lbs

Well in this particular Car & Driver comparison, the Honda S2000 placed 3rd, while our 350Z placed 1st...........please do not lie in order to prove a point

http://www.caranddriver.com/article.asp?se...8&page_number=1

"The S2000 was 0.7 mph slower over its fastest lap than the porkier 350Z" (Car & Driver)

Both cars handle well nevertheless..........Oh and I beleive Car & Driver experienced a quicker 0-60mph acceleration time in the 350Z compared to the S2000, as well as a faster 1/4 mile time......you might have to double check that one though.....im not completely sure

Car and Driver got a 5.4 in the 0-60mph with the 350.......I dont see them getting any better with the S2000

"Our own 0-to-60 time of 6.3 seconds was set with a hole shot just south of the redline on a car with only 369 miles on the odo, but that's behavior reserved for people who can do clutch changes on their lunch hour. Regular Joes can expect 60 mph to arrive closer to the 7.6 seconds of the S2000's 5-to-60-mph time, the second-slowest rolling start ahead of the Audi. "

Dude this has got to be the most poorly driven review I have seen of the S2K. They can't drive the car PERIOD!!! It doesn't mean the car is not capable. You cannot just quote the worst magazine artice as your fact if you are going to magazine race (which is stupid BTW). Look at all of the reviews from different mags and you will see the S2K is capable of much more. Go visit a track or autocross and come back and tell me how anemic the S2000 is (You won't).

btw that article Sucks serious ass.They rate these cars like homosexuals..All they wanted was power..They rated a MUSTANG over a S2000 ...Hmmm

======================
Highs: Engine, baby, engine!

Lows: Dryer-dial steering, still the same chintzy interior, tires more suitable for a school bus.

The Verdict: The most go for the dough by far.
======================

Ok, You can have all the motor you want but when you cannot turn it who cares?HMMMMMMMMMMMMM

What did YOU get? Stop magazine racing and loose the training wheels. Who cares what car and driver got... give me an S2k and I'm confident there won't be any stock 350Z's in front of me at the end of the 1320 or around a track.

hahahaha.....you guys are funny....

It was not me who brought up Car & Driver, but in fact one of your own !! Blame him for his stupidity......I for one do not advocate car reviews due to their inaccuracy....

If you read my last several posts, I have not bashed the S2k and have dropped the subject entirely. Im not arguing about anything, nor am I bashing the S2k. I am simply inquiring about superchargers and turbos which is rather evident in my posts........

So calm down jesus !!

The car is for me and so is the Z. I have the luxury of driving both !!

I would think that a ported and polished engine with, cams, intake, throttle body, smaller head gasket, lightweight pullies, header, straight pipe, exhaust, with a little weight trim, lightweight flywheel, and high octane gas would be close. You have to figure the cams give 15 HP, the header gives 11, the exhaust can give you 5, the straight pipe can give you 5, the throttle body gives you 6, the intake gives you 8, the gasket ?, the 4.44 gears, plus the "freed up" HP from the flywheel, and pully. That is another 50+ HP N/A, that could get you real close, someone got 13.66 stock, so with these mods, at sea level, it is very possible.

What did YOU get?
You come to an S2000 forum knocking the S2000 and have yet to answer this question. You spout some magazine articles

Well in this particular Car & Driver comparison, the Honda S2000 placed 3rd, while our 350Z placed 1st...........please do not lie in order to prove a point
and then blame it on somebody else. I'm really starting to wonder how old you are... me thinks about 14. Why don't you IM cjb80 or ChrisD and ask them for a race? My guess is that either of their cars will probably make the Greddy TT 350Z look a little on the sluggish side.

Vananron,
Where are you getting the hp increases for these items you listed? Tell Peter Pan I said hi.
