Default -10 fittings

I installed a cooler and remote filter mount on my car and I can not seem to get rid of the oil leakage/seepage on the fittings.

I even had the guys at the place cut me a hose to desired lengh and slip the fittings on for me so I know it was done by a someone that does this every day. But even these fittings leak. These fittings leaked from the start.

Anybody have any tricks of the trade to stop the leaks. And yes, these fittings were brand new.

I was thinking of putting white tape but I mean the taper part of these fittings is supposed to seal and its obviously not.

Hah, I should have just posted this same question last week when I installed my oil filter relocation/thermo - Yes the bitch leaked and I disconnected it so I could run my track event the next day and just re-did everything yesterday and no leaks - I never had any problems with the AN fittings though - only the brass barb fittings leaked as well as the sensor fittings - I used "RECTORSEAL" pipe thread sealant from Home Depot. yellow tube with a number "5" on it. The teflon tape I used didn't work too well the first time! I will say that after my leaking the first time I asked a couple of friends that are racers and they told me they use white lithium grease on the AN fittings so the Aluminum doesn't bind and lets the fittings seat fully - Good Luck~!

I am using the aluminum AN fittings. There is writing on it that says XRP or something.

Call me stupid but I never liked AN fittings cause I just don't have any luck w/ them. Give me a rubber hose instead w/ a clamp

But i mean, I tried everything. Loosening them up, tightening them up a bit, then some more. And used oil as lube and then white lithium grease as well. I even had the supposedly "pros" at the store make me up a coupla fittings and those leak too. Did i happen to get a bad batch of fittings??

They leak in the back seal. You are saying you used Rectorseal? But i mean these fitting dont seal at the threads. They seal at the tapers

Looks like there will be a cooler setup for sale very soon cause as I dont deal well with leaks and to waste my time with something trivial as fittings and have them leak, i rather go back to the stock oil cooler, which most likely I will do. So look out for something soon in the For Sale Forum.

Don't give up so soon there are several people with oil coolers that have no leaks - Tell me about your setup! I only used the AN fittings/steel braided lines on the mocal cooler to and from the thermostat above the filter - the rest of the fittings between the block adapter and the filter relocation are brass/barb fittings.
