Default 1052u ems wideband question

I have searched online for this answer, but now have myself a little confused with everything I just racked my brain with and just want someone to clarify with me.

I have a 1052u ems and i'm looking how to install it properly. My question is since I have the 1052u with UEGO built in, do I use my factory O2 sensor ? and read the AFR with a Serial Gauge? or must I purchase a UEGO Controller 30-4100? For what I'm reading the UEGO Controller is only used with the 1052 not 1052u. Whats the correct way?

Any help is greatly appreciated!!

Do I use my factory O2 sensor ? No, you don't and can't use eitther OEM O2 sensor.

Must I purchase a UEGO Controller 30-4100? No, the 1052U has a built in UEGO Controller. That is what the "U" in the part number means.

The 1052U comes with a built-in UEGO Controller and Wideband O2 sensor.

As Stratocaster said, if you have the 1052U (with included wideband O2 sensor) you have everything you need to setup and maintain the tune of your car.

You plug in a laptop and monitor O2 values (on screen) and adjust fuel levels until it is right (well, your tuner does). Then you turn on O2 feedback so the AEM fine tunes the fuel levels as you go.

Now if you want to actually monitor the O2 value on the fly in everyday driving that is where to Serial Gauge comes in handy.

I think there is a discrete O2 only gauge that accepts the signal from the O2 sensor and displays it directly but with the extra advantages of the Serial gauge there is little point.
