Default 12 volt outlet

Has anyone tried putting a cigarette lighter in the 12 volt outlet?

Another note. Joe_S2K was able to blow both his and my fuse using the power outlet with an electric air pump designed to be used with car outlets. Maybe the device was heating up / pulling too much current, since many people had used it prior to that. Just an FYI.

Thanks for the response, I had read the warning in the manual and was just wondering if anyone had modified the outlet so that it could be used for something other than a phone charger?

It can be done. Run a fused line directly from the battery, just like an amp. The wire is the limiting factor. The low fuse value is to protect that wire from overheating. Don't know the current rating, but that is the upper limit on what you can run without modification.
