1st Differential Fluid Change on an AP2
I did a search but couldn't find a definitive answer to this question. Are people changing their diff fluid early for AP2's just like we did for AP1's?
I changed my AP1 at 6,000 miles (after arguing with the mechanic that I really DID want him to replace the fluid so early). He was shocked and amazed and how sludgey and dirty the fluid was. I remember others had had similar experiences.
I'm planning to do the same with my new AP2, but was wondering if others have had a similar experience (super dirty fluid after just a few thousand miles).

Yah, I changed the differential oil on my 1st oil change (7500 miles). It is pretty easy to do yourself if you purchase a hand pump. A bottle of Mobile 1 75w90 is only $11, cheaper than an engine oil change.
Just do as often as you like.

I'll be interested to see how it comes out. It's going to be awhile, though. I still haven't got through the break-in period. Oh the pain of not being able to VTEC!

Which hand pump did you use and where did you buy it?
Thanks,

It's the same, you need a 23MM socket and 22MM wrench. You can't reach the fill bolt with a socket since there's a brace in the way. We change tranny/diff fluid every 15K since the car is autocrossed and have been using Mobil 1 75W90 for 104K with no issues *knock on wood*
I bought a pump at a local NAPA, it screws onto some bottles of fluid that I used before (Amsoil MTF) and works great.

Impossible. The OEM fluid is dark, dirty, and smells like shit. If it was clean and looked like normal oil, then someone changed it before you.
