Default 2000 S2K Plastic Window

I have a 2000 S2k with 112,000 miles and a plastic rear window with tears and holes in it, and a top with multiple holes.

I got my dealer to give me 25% off the cost of repalcing it as long as they do the install with a Honda OEM top replacement. I specifically asked them to give me a new top with glass, but they just told me that Honda's tech line told them they cannot put the glass top on my MY2000 because of subtle frame differences. Is this true? I really, really wanted to get a top with a glass window and I didn't find this out until AFTER my dealer got the top in stock for me.

I appreciate the 25% off on a car long past its warranty, but I have to settle for a plastic window again now. So, is it true that there is no Honda OEM top with glass that can fit a MY2000?

If I had known this ahead of time, I would have gone for the aftermarket top in this thread. Top with Glass window replacement.

its true you need a new frame to fit the glass top.

there was an aftermarket option i believe but i'm not really sure

plastic sucks i have an '00 also and got a brand new top put on.. the plastic is already all foggy within a year and its impossible to keep clear.

Thanks for the helpful replies. I can see from that link to the thread from 2003 that this is actually a well known issue that has avoided my notice all these years. I'll talk to my dealer and see what they can do.

Try GAHH thats who supplied my top and back glass. no modifcation to the frame what so ever. If im not mistaken Robbins was suppose to be comming out with one somtime late last year. IMO They are a much better top company.(i used to install convertable tops before i joined the navy)
