2002 Suspension Changes
Here is the suspension change on the rear of the 2002 S.
2002 part spring (27.2MMX4.5T) Part number 52300-S2A-J01 $123.55
2001 part spring ( 27.2MMXT5.3) Part number 52300-S2A-013 $ 130.55
Can I put the new part on my 2001 and reduce weight as well as improve handling? And would I have to buy the new shocks too? How much weight will I lose?

Often times a suspension re-tune includes all active components on both ends including bushings. All parts are designed to work together so you would want to insure that you have the complete set of changes. Don't think you would see any weight change but rather a different bias in the handling.. it may or may not be an improvement depending upon you use of the car.
I didn't want to say anything just in case I was imagining things, BUT I must say that my 2002 suspension definitely feels softer than the 2001 model that I test drove. In fact I preferred the ride of the 2001 model, but if the changes lead to less tail happiness, that's okay with me.
