Hi guys. I'm starting to lose the fun in driving my 2003 S. When I shift from 1st to second at normal rpm I hear and feel a clunk. When I rev it to over 5000 rpm it shifts smoothly. Anybody know what's going on? If it was a bad 2nd gear synchro I would think that it would grind but I get a clunk. The car has 22,000 miles on it and I had the trasmission fluid and rear differential fluid changed a month ago. Any help would be kindly appreciated.

 

I posted this in the Vintage forum as well, hopefully it's not the clutch release bearing making the "clunk' sound. A "notchy" or a shift that tends to catch somewhat is usually remedied with this fix.
