Tried to start my s2k this morning and couldnt get it to start up. When I puch in the start button, I get a loud, fast clicking noise and thats it. All the lights on the dash light up, everything else seems fine. Tried jumping it thinking maybe the battery was low from not being driven much in a while, but same thing. All I get is a loud, fast repeating clicking sound. Was thinking could be the starter but car only has 50k on the odo and has never displayed this behavior at al lbefore.

Any thoughts?

 

Your starter contacts are bad. I would just replace the whole starter and relay. Your car is about the right age for this to happen.

 

make sure you're battery cable connections are clean.
