Bought car used awhile back and am curious what is missing from the valve cover. I checked 2 other s2000's, and unfortunately they were different years and so they didn't have the hole here. It's the passenger side closest to the firewall. It looks like something goes there, but nothing seems out of place. The diagram at hondaautomotiveparts.com didn't help much either.

You are not missing anything. The 01-05 cars had a sensor that used that hole. Honda modified the casting for the valve cover, only what they needed to for the DBW sensors. You are just fine.

 

pretty sure i have a ground wire there, but it may just be for the Hondata Kpro
