What changes were made in 2004 for S2000 drivetrain

There are lots of little tidbits that have been discussed here over the years. But I don't remember seeing this much about the changes on one piece of paper(?).
I was actually looking for the reason why the F22C1 has so little oil consumption compared to the F20C1. Here is the reason (or at least my best guess!):
"Additionally, "dummy head honing," a process where the engine block cylinders are honed with a "dummy" cylinder head tightened to the block, improves machining accuracy for stability of piston movement."
I didn't know how exactly to explain it on another forum, so here it is.
Maybe this would make a good sticky somewhere?

Post '04 F20C2's sold in Europe (and elsewhere) also use less oil for the same reason.
That said: switching too soon to (true) syn oil may stop the proper break-in of the FRM liners.
That combined with the old style honing = oil burner.
