30k mile service
hey,
just picked up my nfr s2k saturday and on the long trip back i hit 30700 so i want to change the diff an tranny fluids. I know that mobil 1 synthetic 75w90 is good for the diff? and honda mtf is fine for the tranny what weight though? also how much of each for the refill. i saw different posts and thats why i am asking is it 3/4 for the diff an 2 quarts for the tranny? thanx for all info appreciate it ALOT peace.

you will almost finish a whole bottle for the mobil one diff fluid, so don't waste any.
yes one bottle is good enough.
not really sure the m1 is full syn. tho, but it's great fluid, that's the stuff i am keep using also.
two bottle of MTF is correct, make sure you get the just released MTF form honda, those new stuff suppose to be better fluid.
one more hint for you, buy a cheap pump at the store while you at it, 5 dollar now and you'll save alot of time under the car.

ok this tranny oil is not so good... the new honda mtf... i have been using the gm sync. modified friction.. which is excellent ...
i have drove my car for about 2 days now..and its a little notchy ... . im wondering if any of you guys have used it...
and one more thing how long do you have to drive the car to warm up the tranny....i been driving around for about 1 hour at least...
its funny how the gm sync friction never had a problem right after changing the oill....
i say ... this honda mtf no good.... if im not mistaken its the same as the old they just change the label and cap of the bottle..... cause it feels the same when i bought my car... notchy all the time...

You are doing well to change this stuff out now.
The Mobil 1 75w90 is a very popular choice here, and is synthetic. Here is a link for more education on it. Linkie
I can't seem to Google the Honda MTL numbers, but I know the Redline MTL (that I use) says 70w80 on the bottle.
As stated above, 1 bottle for the diff and 2 bottles for the tranny.
You should also look into replacing the intake filter (15k) and the interior cabin filter (30k).
Best of luck,
