4.77's
best gas mileage is probably seen between 4000-4500rpm on highway cruise speeds. Considering you already drive the car within that range while cruising on highways then the added bonus with the 4.77 in an ap2 is that you will maintain that cruising rpm and not exceed speed limits...less tickets lol.
Gears do not add power, but as answer said they help greatly to accelerate the car. That is because power comes earlier on. For example if you take stock ap2 and dyno it, then dyno a stock ap2 with 4.77s they will probably have similar hp and torque number. However, the one with 4.77's will have lets say around 10whp more throughout the entire powerband compared to the other. meaning that if the stock ap2 is making 150whp at a certain rpm, then the geared ap2 will make around 160whp at the same rpm.

and most people would rather see HP over RPM. rather than MPH.
AP1 with Ap2 trans + 4.77's and smaller hieght tires FTW!!!! x 100

yeah i did the 1/4 13.83 at 101 with a drop in test pipe and exhaust. we only got to run twice because it was so crowded. im sure i could launch a little bit higher get a better 60 ft n do a better 1/4
