It's actually 4850-4900 at 5k rpms. It's only 300 rpms above 4.57s. Gas mileage does suffer on the highway but your city mileage should be slightly better than before.

when i went from 4.77 to 4.56, 60 mph cruising dropped from 5k rpm to 4k rpm in 6th gear. the car is more easier to live with during normal driving (98% of the time) and the butt dyno can't tell much of an acceleration difference.

the diagnosis for the failed 4.77 was a warped pinion shaft, BTW. it was rotating on a wobbly axis, and bore out the opening in the housing.

you couldn't be more wrong, i dunno where you get your facts from but they must come from where the sun dont shine.

My speedo is perfectly calibrated and 4800 RPM on my AFC (more accurate than my tach) is 80mph.

5000RPM with 4.77's and AP1 is around 81-83 MPH.

4500RPM is around 74-76 MPH.

So, 5000RPM is not your 60MPH cruising speed, and dropping down from 4.77's to 4.57's is not going to reduce your RPM by 1000.

So what your saying is with the .77's you were at 5000 rpm's at 60 mph? doesn't sound right at all

sorry i just dont think its wise to spread false information that might sway someone from actually purchasing what they want.

perhaps you should get your speedometer corrected and learn more about the modifications you make to your car.

none. it's an oem part, unlike 4.56/4.57. if you hear gear whine with 4.44, 4.77.. then it was installed incorrectly.

It's made up crap like this that gave the 4.77 gearset such a bad name. You have absolutely no clue what you are talking about. I have worked SO HARD over the past year or so to get rid of .77 trash talking and to dispell the myths that people make up. People are finally coming around, ordering this gearset, and giving positive reviews and I'll be damned if you're going to foul it up!
