Hey guys ! Super pumped just got my new (03 with 13k miles) s2k!!! Drove 2 hours home and never had a 6 spd before. I was curious if this car can accidentally be shifted into reverse by accident. I was kinda nervous throwing it in 6th.

You would not be able to misshift into reverse by accident. It would take alot of force and there would be much grinding. You have to kinda push down on the shifter for reverse anyway so unless you are doing that on the rest of the gears for some odd reason......

 

Try putting it into reverse (you can do so stopped -- no need to test this while moving) and you'll have your answer.

 

How does that answer it? I know you have to push down I just wasn't sure ifyou tried to downshift and pressed it down it would go in reverse.

 

You will be fine. Like mentioned above the shifter will require a TON of force to put it in reverse while you are moving forward. You will know if you are doing it wrong
