Default ? about doing clutch master

When doing the clutch master, remember the cotter pin that holds the clutch master to the clutch pedal; do you simply pull it down and it comes out or do you have to bend it like an old cotter pin and try prying it out. The honda manual makes it look like a locking pin which you can pull off and not have to bend it for it to come off. Has anyone done the clutch master and know what im talking about and inform me how to do this.

the image is on page 392 in the 2000-2003 manual. It's called a lock pin in the manual

Grab the pin w/ a pair of needle nose pliers and twist it to "open" it a little then you should be able to pull it out. If you haven't bought your new master cylinder yet I would just add the lock pin to the purchase...it was very cheap and made getting the old off easier since I could see how to manipulate without being contorted under the dash of the car in the dark.

yeah, the pin Honda uses is a PITA to get off. I just ripped mine off and put in a normal one the 2nd time I messed with the master cyl. The first time, it took me longer to get that damn pin out than to do everything else.

If you're already going to be under the dash, may as well put a normal pin in there now. The last time I did a clutch master, the car didn't have a seat installed. It made getting under the dash super easy!
