Default ABS Question

Hi All,

Swopped out my Driveshaft shop drive shafts for standard ones. The ABS sensor check light came on. I thought I had damaged the ABS sensor and got a new one when the Scanman diagnostic tool told me that the ABS sensor had failed.

I've put in the new ABS sensor with the standard drive shafts and the check light still comes up intermittently. I've made sure that there is no dirt on the sensor or on the drive shaft. The scanman tool still says that the sensor is broken.

Any advice?

Thanks

Could the sensor at the hub ring have been jarred? It must be orientated at an exact distance and angle to the ring. How about the wire? Any chance this could have been pulled or stretched and subsequently broken?

Changed the sensor... the light went off for a while... drove it and then it came on again. i think the hub ring might be damaged too.

Do Honda sell the hub ring separately or drive shaft ring separately?

i dont think honda sells them seperatly. im pretty sure honda axles are remanufactured. they just knock the ring off and reinstall them. if they're not damaged. did you check the clearance between the sensor and ring? did you use something non-megnetic when checking it?

The hub rings are made onto the outer CV joint. They are interference fit onto the joint, and not usually something that can be swapped without breaking the ring.

If the rings are damaged, you need to get another axle from DSS.
