Default Adjusting head light height?

When i first got my 2000 used it had been repainted. I guess when they put the front back together they didnt adjust the driverside light correctly because it is higher than the passenger side. I get flashed all the time because it is aiming in other peoples faces. Is it pretty easy to adjust? I am going to attempt it today, thanks guys.

Your owners manual will show you how with pictures and instructions. It involves parking the car on a level surface in front of a flat, vertical wall. The adjuster is accessed from within the engine bay and involves turning with a screw driver.

i would like to know how to do this as well.. my 2005 manual does not have these instructions. it says that the headlight alignment should be performed by the dealer. anyone able to post some scans of the manual?

Bastids! Trying to get a little more business for their dealers.

Ground must be level, wall must be vertical.
Park car with front of headlight lense exactly 25 ft. from wall.
Measure the height of the headlight (center of lens) from the ground at the car. Transfer this measurement to the wall and draw a line.
You headlights' lowest illumination line should be 2.1" BELOW this line.

On each fender wall (inside the engine bay), just behind each headlight, you will see a round wheel-shaped adjuster know. This know has a sort of "2 pronged" fork situated over the splines on that wheel. Put a flat screwdriver into the middle of that fork to flip the splines (and the wheel) one notch at a time in the desired position to raise or lower the headlite beam.

You cannot adjust the headlights from left to right without modifying the actual headlight mounts.

I have a 2005 and had to raise the lights....

5/16 little socket, small swivel to a 6" extender
with a rachet

get a little flash light... the screw in the cubby hole
2 handed opperation, just look for the 5/16th head

clock wise to raise... my lights took 6-8 turns

to check lights.... park 20-30 feet away from closed garage

make a referance where the light are... then screw it a couple times

go for a test drive... and readjust if needed
