has anybody played w/ the 2 step launch control? No extra sensors needed as far as I know...? This is what got me interested in the AEM among all other cool features.

The EGT's sky-rocket with the 2-step function if you do the timing retard way (for turbo spool up) and not the temporary rev limitation function that does a fuel cut off. You can do it on a stock S2000 with nothing else but the AEM EMS.

That is the issue.... if I am at 1500 RPM there is no problem.... playing if a lower idle rate has opened up a whole shit load of fine tuning.... I will check the decel fuel cut.....
Andrew Doherty,
Unfortunately I did not buy anything from torqefreaks..... not sure if he would be obliged to help....
I think I'll be posting in the EMS forum.....

hmmm, I failed to look into that, my car's got to pass. Although the ECU swap seems simple enough. On the day before inspection you put the stock ECU back and just drive normal to the inspection station, has anybody played it like that?

so if it fails emissions, let alone asking the question if the the immobilizer function works, right?

Mine works great except for the temp gauge. If your car is stock, plug it in, set the TPS, start the car, and set the idle. After this, you should be able to drive carefully for a while. Do some datalogs. Enable knock retard. If your datalogs showed any knock, either retard timing or add fuel. Chances are good that after the initial TPS and ignition timing setup you won't have to do anything else to it except enabling knock retard. Everything I have just mentioned is VERY easy to do yourself.

Well I am SC'd

My thing is emissions now. If my car wont pass thats not good.

another thing is the temp gauge, and another thing is i dont want CEL's or any other lights as a result of this thing not being able to drive sensors or lights correctly...

Dont ever say that. You under-estimate the complete inability of people to comprehend even the easiest logistics. When I worked as a computer repair tech, a guy had his computer for a week and couldn't turn it on since the day he got it. Turned out he was pressing the reset button and the button to open the CD tray. He some how completely missed the largest button on the front panel which had a light on it even at that. That pretty much gave me a clue as to how doomed the human race is destined to be.
