Default AEM EMS and NA Setup

Would getting an AEM EMS be overkill for someone planning to stay NA and eventually get TODA pistons and cams? And if so, would getting a Mugen ECU + EManage be a better option? Thanks

EMS is wonderful. Ive got mine, awaiting my Toda header to be delivered and Im getting tuned.

Check out P1auto.com for dyno plots of an 03 S2000 with Toda header/EMS

Impressive.

If you have an eManage, there really wouldn't be any benefit from the Mugen ECU, unless you want to run a test pipe without an O2 simulator.

Ferrell - No doubt that the dyno shows improvement, but they look a bit fishy. Notice how they stop the base run 1k RPM before they stopped the other runs and then compared both of peak values. Even though the base map is clearly still gaining power.

gernby - That and I wouldn't have to worry about the ECU un-learning any tuning.

A properly configured and tuned eManage won't cause the stock ECU to learn bad things.

Basically I'm wondering if I would not be using a lot of the AEM's functions for my NA setup. Would the Emanage net me the same gains as the AEM would since I wouldn't be going FI. Don't get me wrong if I can get away with spending less on the Emanage I'd much rather do that. I just thought that it may not be sufficient because I read on the Toda site that the pistons/cams require fully programmable computer.
