Default aem v2 intake

i just bought a car with it and the seller doesn't have a stock air intake for it. should i be worried? (KS rains quite a lot) , and if i were to downgrade which will be better?

PM me if anyone wants to trade

I have the same exact situation...
Funny the angled it up not down to drain the water out...
Took the filter off and run it under the faucet to see if water gets in easily... well YES it does... runs right through...

There is a little rubber plug with a little slit in it at the base of the pipe .
Kinda whistles at certain throttle amounts too...

Anyways.. I'm just thinking that the pipe is soooo long that any large amounts of water to hydrolock is probably not going to happen...
I'm thinking of putting a slightly oiled foam sock around it..
or maybe a K&N (it has a 3 1/2 inch opening.)

AND before anyone flames me about oil and the O2sensor... look in your throttlebody to see just how muck oil gets in there from the PCV valve.

There is a DIY on how to plug the drain hole from under the hood. That is probably your biggest concern if you can avoid puddles.

If you go through a fat puddle with the AEM, you'll be on your 2nd S2k

oh shoot , i wonder what the previous owner did run through water or not

hmm if i have 240 245 239 240 comp on a 62k miles motor is fine right?

*sweat* since when my nick name changed ?!?!

so what is a good intake to consider at the same price range? i'd take out this intake then , can't justify 3hp increase over a motor replacement
