what is a good intake to consider...
these numbers are great

The AEM is a good intake, but can lead to serious consequences if it sucks water into your motor.

i damn near hydrolocked my motor because of this intake. i plugged the drain hole but the entire lower pipe still managed to fill with water when the car sat in the rain. if you are going to keep the intake, i strongly suggest making some kind of umbrella to shield the filter from water dripping on it.

I've got the AEM on my car. Like you, it came with it and I didnt have a stock air box.
The day I drove it home (from Bellingham WA - North of Seattle to Oregon) a storm came in and was a solid downpour almost the entire time. I didnt have any trouble.

Avoid deep puddles and you should be ok. The S is a lot lower than many cars and even smaller puddles can have consequences.

i looked over it today and there is a shield down there that avoid the water from splashing up.

so as long as avoid small/big puddle of water or heck dont even drive in rain is my best bet?

all the j's an mugen intake are above 1k *eek*

I have the AEM V2 as well. I didn't plug the drain, but I did make an umbrella out of a $1.89 plastic flower pot from Home Depot. I tested it and it works remarkably well.

I don't go near puddles.
