Going to clean out my AFE filter in my Comptech intake, since they claim it's washable and re-usable. All my old filters(the foam Comptech filter) had a cleaning kit consisting of oil and a degreaser. AFE sells a degreaser for $30 a bottle which seems like a rip off. My question, do I need to use their degreaser, or can I just use diluted simple green, or some other degreaser instead, then just rinse and air dry? Anyone else have experience washing their dry AFE filters?

 

simple green is fine to use, i personally use meguiars APC diluted 10:1 with great results
