Default After replacing driver's side window...

Recently, I just replaced my driver's side window because some hater through a rock at it and it shattered. I got replaced it with OEM parts and window.

Everything looks great but now, when I roll down my window, it makes a very noticeable "hit" when it reaches the bottom.

I asked the body shop who did the work to adjust it and they said there is not adjustments for it, but they were nice enough to try again but it did not work.

Is there padding under that window which might be missing? Or there is a way to adjust the amount it rolls down?

Thank you

Hugo

there should be rubber moldings inside the tracks on both sides, and that might be the problem if they fell out. I would take a look at the pass side and compare.

A friend of my roommate came to visit Davis a while ago only to get a rock bashed into his BMW's rear window at Sudwerks.

2k dre, Thanks, I think that's what causing the problem since there is also scratchy noise when rolling down the window. Do I have to buy the rubber part or it is there already that I just need to fix it?

Tekstar, No, it happened in a nice Socal area. Apparently, not so safe, but I think I just got unlucky.

nothing is ever "normal" again when something gets replaced in the car, but if it makes it any better i noticed this in a few cars. seems normal to me. i wouldnt be too worried. if the window isnt shattering when it goes down and makes that noise it should be fine. if theres no damage to the window when going down it should be fine too.

Wrong, other than something very extreme; if you replaced something on your car and you know what you're doing and have the right parts it will be "normal".

Sounds like it's time to pull the door panel and make sure the job was done correctly. The window should function "normally". I did a complete R&R of my driver's side door (bought a used door and swapped all of my components over to it), and I never had any issues. There ARE adjustments that need to be made to the track, top and bottom stops, so I suspect they were not done properly. Have a look at a Helm manual and you'll be able to do it yourself if you have even modest mechanical skills.
