Default Tranny Issue

I have an 00 S and ive come to live with the clutch buzz. I recently had the tranny fluid changed because it felt like it was shifting a little rough. When i first drove the car after changing the fluid, inputs were super smooth and the problem seemed to be resolved. About 10-15 miles later the rough shifting came back. Is this a result of the POS clutch in the early year models? I had the fluid changed again after it seemed rough the first time and it continued to do it. I confronted the dealer/tech about it and they said its common in the S to "feel" the gears.

Any Suggestions? Thoughts?

the early model clutches aren't a POS, they just buzz, it is common to "feel" the gears since the shifter is connected directly to the transmission, however it should not be difficult to change gears. those first 15 minutes after you changed the oil could have been Ppower of suggestion, meaning that nothing changed, it just seemed like it did. If your clutch is still the original one from 2000, it might be getting a little toasty, but that wouldn't cause rough shifting. .. does it feel notchy, or is it physically harder to switch gears than before? is the clutch pedal feel the same as before or lighter/heavier.. throw out some more info for a better answer.

Try bleeding the clutch hydraulic lines. Your clutch may not be disengaging all the way when you press in the clutch pedal. If clutch is dragging a little, instead of totally disengaged, it makes shifting effort higher.

You might also try lubing the shifter's fulcrum ball and engagement end (the two plastic pieces on the bottom half of the shifter.
