I have about 40k miles on my air filter and it is only at 8" and I will change the filter out at 15". My gauge has I think 4 or 5 steps on its way to 15", so its not like its good one day and bad the next, you can see how long it takes to get a filter to make some restriction. In fact, it will not move for a long time or just move up to 8" and stay there for a long time(how long I don't know yet) and then it will move up to 15" pretty quick. At lest it did on my over the road truck.
