Default Alarm and Key Problems

So I lost my key and remote to my car but I have a spare remote and key. I tried using the remote but it wasn't working. So I used they key, as soon as I opened the door the alarm went off. I tried to start the car in hopes that it would do something. It didn't start. So I went to the store and purchased a new battery later that day. The remote still wont unlock it. I got the car used and received 2 keys and 2 remotes (don't know if that info helps). I had no issue getting into the car and starting it before. I really don't know where to go from here so any and all help would be greatly appreciated!

Our car doesn't have a factory alarm that would go off. It's the transponder in the key that prevents theft. You likely have an aftermarket alarm that is also gumming up the works.

If the car won't turn over you have a starter kill installed which is unlike the factory security which is ignition kill allowing the car to turn over but not start.

Trip to a car stereo shop might be in order.

Sorry if this is a dumb question, but what do you mean by turn over? I can get in the car and turn on the radio and the cluster will turn on. If I try to start it though the alarm starts to go off. Same when I initially open the door. The previous owner never mentioned anything like a kill switch. He said he barely touched his car in terms of anything aftermarket.
