Default alignment question for stock ride height.......

what is the maximum amount of REAR negative camber that can be dialed in for a stock ride height S2000???

dilemma:

i just put on new 18" SSR Comps. all around. the rears are 18x9 with a +55 offset w/ 265/35/18 S0-2's. the rears stick out beyond the fender ever so slightly (1/2 inch). the car has stock springs over koni's, set on the highest perch. i've driven about 60 miles and there is no rubbing. but, it looks like crap.

the car used to be lowered with KG/MM race springs, that in and of itself, created about 3 degrees of neg camber. i had to remove them b/c i was pretty sure that 265's would rub.

the tires are the N1 (porsche variant) 265's and are unusually wide (like the OE S2000 rear S0-2's being comparable to a "normal" 245).

i may try putting the springs onto the lower perch and see what effect that has on camber (if any).

but, an answer to my question would be appreciated.....

thanks all.

this is how it looked with my old wheels - same offset, but running 255/35/18 S0-3's in the rear (and lowered, obviously)....it never rubbed:

I think you can dial in something like neg 3.2 camber without issue with a stock system, but keep in mind this is only a band-aid type of solution. With that much neg camber on the street, you'll wear the insides fast. Maybe run a narrower tire in the rear or try different offsets.

I have -2.7 in the rear of mine, and about 1.5k miles on the rear tires and have no major issues yet. I have the car lowered about 2 inches. Handles like a dream also.

Slightly off topic but springs won't determine whether or not a car will rub, struts do that. Just helping to dispel a common misnomer!
