Default Another diff topic differential lsd etc...

Hey guys here's another diff question. I have searched but couldn't find exactly what I was looking for. So my 2 q's are1 is how can you test the factory LSD? I bought one that had pinion damage but it looks like the actually diff locked up? You can't spin one axle at a time or even rotate them in opposite directions. It always moves at the driveshaft mount. I assumed gear type LSD would allow you to spin each wheel in opposite directions without moving the driveshaft but when spun at driveshaft both axles would spin in the same direction. Is this correct? I opened up the pumpkin and don't see anything wrong with the gears and after playing with it for a few it starts to rotate as I expected then locks up again. I bought this diff broken and not even sure if it's actually factory. Please view the pics and chime in if you can help. Thanks guys.

Reason I thought it might be aftermarket is I saw pics of a factory welded diff and it does not look the same. Any info is appreciated.

Heh, plenty of views without a reply. I know someone has to of cracked one of these open. How do I take all the gears out of the pumpkin to clean and inspect?
