No idea how common this is....its an OEM Mani so I doubt install error.

If you want an easy one, go look at where the stock exhaust does the Y under the trunk. I guarantee there are cracks all over.

Or use an air compressor like me.

With that bracket missing, there is the potential for excessive twisting of the manifold, which can cause cracks. Sometimes, an exhaust leak can sound like a ticking noise. I have tested this by removing 1 nut of an exhaust manifold with the engine running (non-s2000).. go figure lol.

Fatjoe,
I checked for leaks at the manifold using the shopvac method as well as engine running (still cool), and found nothing visible to me. Is there a specific spot that will crack because of a missing bracket? I added the bracket to my car anways.. It also does not happen immediately on start-up, only after about 30 seconds of idling does it start to tick. Do these symptoms point to an exhaust leak?
Thanks! - JZ

Just to update this thread since I had this problem.
I borrowed a friends throttle body since I was consistently getting low TPS circuit voltage codes with the omnipower TPS adjusted to OEM spec. Once I did that, it fixed my engine stalling issue as well as the low TPS circuit voltage.
Comparing the throttle bodies, mine had 130k and it appears as if the plate was sticking. Other throttle body had about 40k miles and had no hesitation when opening and closing the throttle.
After 3 years of chasing this issue, finally solved it after spending $$$ on new parts.
