Default Another front license plate thread

I got busted for no front license plate ( I hate the look of it mounted at the stock nose location above the grill! I read all the threads on this. I'm thinking about mounting it inside the grill but at an angle, leaning back somewhat to allow more airflow. Anyone tried this? Any thoughts?

I'm in Los Angeles. Can't believe the cops have time to bust drivers for s*** like this, but seems they do.

There have been numerous discussions on this topic in the past. One option would be to check out Rick's License Plate Holder. Rick's is one of our sponsors. Check out this link: http://www.ricks2k.com/products/plateholder.php

Or you can zip-tie your license plate to your grille. Consider this: your car is not apt to overheat at higher speeds, since there is plenty of air flow. Overheating is most likely to take place when idling and not moving on a very hot day with the A/C on. In this scenario, having the front license plate over your grille will not affect the cooling ability of the radiator since the fans are both running, blowing air across the radiator.

I've had my front license plate like this for almost 4 years.

Put the liscense plate back on, go to the police station and have a cop sign it off so its a 10 dollar fix-a-ticket and then take it right back off

They do have a plate holder, but its covered with a plastic piece with "corvette" imprinted on it.

Got a ticket for no front plate on my Prelude. I didn't mind paying the fine. What did suck was that I got an insurance surcharge of $100/yr. for 3yrs. plus insurance points for fictitious plates. WTF? BTW, the insurance company was NJ Manufacturers.

It's an equipment violation, just need to show proof of correction and pay $10 fee. The time it takes is the bigger issue.

I'm thinking of doing this !!! I'll survey other local sports cars to see how many are running around plateless. Maybe I just got a bored motocop.

Anyone got a pic of that Rick's plate holder, with views diff from their site? It looks like it mounts too high.

I like the inside grill mount better. Prob try that.

OT I also got a speeding ticket, doing 53 on Olympic on way to work. Everyone goes 50+ there; I was just the next fish in the school when officer got ready to write next ticket ( Fine + traffic school fees will cost ~ $250. All this revenue and kids in inner city schools don't even have decent books or toilets that work. Wonder where it all goes?

Off soap box & back to work . . .
