Default Anti-freeze question

Well from what I heard the coolant in our cars is basically dexcool with blue coloring. If you didn't know this is what can happen to a car with dexcool:

Me and my friend were talking about switching to Peak anti-freeze, he said he is (or he did, can't remember) in his SRT-4. My question is, can you just simply switch over to peak? Could that cause an overheating issue, or affect the engine in other ways?

Thank you.

and sorry if I said something retarded.

Where did you read that Honda coolant is the same as Dexcool?

I've changed a lot of coolant in Hondas, Type II coolant doesn't cause corrosion like that in the all aluminum Honda engines under 100K miles.

Engines with iron blocks and aluminum cylinder heads have much bigger problems with coolant breaking down due to the dissimilar metals. 2 different metals = low voltage battery = electrolysis = corrosion. The engine in your buddy's SRT-4 has a iron block and aluminum head.

Got a '91 Accord around with the original radiator and 460K miles on it. Always had Honda coolant in it. No issues. I've begun to think coolant/corrosion issues were something only non-Honda owners experienced.

Every 3 to 4 years do a full flush and replace with non-silicate anti-freeze (I prefer Honda OEM fluid here).

Always lots of info at Bob is the Oil Guy....
