Default anyone here have manual steering

title says it all.

I know the car comes with PS. I removed and drained my Miata PS system and I don't know how in the world I ever drove with PS. it feels so much more apporpriate for the car. plus...it'll keep people from wanting to drive it. the steering in turns is solid and the front wheels really communicate better now. the rack ratio is around 18:1 I believe.

has anyone done this yet for thier S? or is it too complicated to bother with.

I believe all you have to do is remove the EPS fuse and you're set. We don't have traditional power steering (no fluid). Our's is electric.

At higher speeds our EPS shuts off anyway.

Driving without the EPS is a good way go build upper body strength but is not really enjoyable.

My buddies N/A MR2 does not have power steering and it's a BITCH to drive, especially when pulling out of a parking space/lot or going -5 mph.

But his arms are huge now.

lol, you're shoulders will get as big as arnold's. question though is the lack of recirculationg fluid wont damage any internals, gears and such? As manuel racks have different fluid inside as opposed to power racks.

this is why we don't drain all the fluid out....a small amount is left in for lubrication. I love the feedback.

I see but it's the type of fluid that is in there. A manuel rack doens't have the same fluid as a power rack.
