Default Anyone reuse washers on tranny/diff. fluid changes

Has anyone tried reusing the washers when doing a tranny or diff fluid change? I was curious if it was ok to reuse them.

I've also reused both and haven't had any problems.

Do you have to install it the same way it was when you took it off, or with either side work?

I usually don't reuse them, but if I do, I flip them over.

Agreed. So do I. I found that my local dealers don't stock these. So I figure they do it too.

Note: I have ordered a few of them from Hardtopguy the last time I order filters and other misc parts. So Now I have them.

The washers are directional, if you look at one closely you will see a flat and a convex side, the flat side goes against the case whether it is the tranny, diff or oil pan. I make a effort to keep them on the plug when off and they will not get on wrong.

I've re-used them many times. I don't flip them since I noticed that the washers develop an "impression" or indentation mark and I don't want to risk flipping them in case these impressions don't line up.
The only one that really needs close attention is the diff fill bolt washer. It appears to be made of a yellow metal and it is much solfter. In time, this washer can squash very thin.

It is because of the impressions that I do flip them. The washers need to squish to make a seal, and if they aren't flipped, the old impression may be slightly out of place and not seal well.
