They seem a bit pricey yet I can't seem to find any DIY examples. Seems to me that a piece of plexiglass from Lowes or Home Depot wouldn't be that pricey. Put some beefy steel L brackets and some bolts ...

Then again, it's a decent amount of wind the thing has to stand up to.

There are places that cut plexiglass. I had it done for a different project - just brought in a template of what I needed and they cut it perfectly. IIRC it wasn't very expensive at all.

Yeah I've seen the roll hoop mods. I'm more looking for the windscreen (ie., the plexiglass that goes between the driver and passenger rollbar hoops) as a DIY.

The thing I don't understand is how with even the factory windscreen there is enough mounting force and structural rigidity to hold up to the wind buffeting ... using only mount points at the bottom of the mechanism.

Rigging up something for a screen to also latch on to each of the rollbar hoops seems a bit much though. It would also make it a much less easy to remove item.
