Default AP1 or AP2

I purchased my S2000 in April 2005 . How can I tell if it is an AP1 or AP2?

Ap1 is the chassis code designation for 00-03
Ap2 is the chassis code designation for 04+

if you look at any of the VIN numbers on the car (under hood on firewall for ex) it should read JHMAP1...or JHMAP2

Also if your cluster looks something like this, it's an ap2...there's many more diffirences but those are the basic ones

This may be some what related due to the picture, but would a JDM / EDM AP2 cluster be plug and play in a USDM AP1? The AP2 layout is much cleaner, but the overseas market retained the 9K RPM redline. Mods lmk if this needs to be a new topic...
