Default Ap1 > Ap2 Tranny conversion

I was wondering if you can bypass the output flange conversion by getting the AP2 driveshaft and differential instead of using the AP1 driveshaft. Thanks.

AP2's use larger bolts in both diff and trans flanges that AP1's.

If you want a AP2 trans in a AP1 your options are:

1. Swap trans flange, use AP1 shaft, diff and bolts.
2. Swap diff flange, use AP2 shaft, and bolts.
3. Swap AP2 diff, use AP2 shaft and bolts.

Option 2 can screw up the pinion preload if you don't do it right and trash the differential.

Upgrade the entire system would be my suggestion. Go all AP2 so it all matches.

So the answer is yes, you can bypass the flange conversion by using an AP2 driveshaft, diff, and bolts. Thanks.

Well I guess this leads to another question...does the AP1 axles work with the AP2 diff?

Yes it does.

I have the exact setup you are talking about. I'm running AP2, tranny, drive shaft and diff with my AP1 axles.
