Default AP1 ECU swap

Im swapping an '02-'03 ECU into my '01. Everything i've read says that its a simple plug-n-play installation. The only headache is from the immobilizer. So I got an ECU with a key from the car it came from, I installed it, i have the key in the car, but it doesnt start. WHY?? I've tried tapeing the key to the ECU. Ive tried putting it on the key ring with my other key and still nothing. Any ideas?

Your keys need to be programmed by a dealer to the new PCM. End of story.
