ok here goes...

i have an ap1 and going to swap ap2 motor in, dilema is that the throttle body on the new motor is the electronic one. now i dont have the wiring harness for the new motor and was planning on using my old ap1 harness and transfering my old cable throttle body to the new manifold. since i will be using the old setup the wasy i just described, i also have the new style ecu..... having a driveby wire ecu to work on the *ap1* style motor is that even possible??? i guess what im trying to say is...

AP2 Motor with ap1 throttle body will it work with the 05+ecu? will that work?

or should it be like this= AP2 motor-ap1 throttle body-ap1 harness-ap1 ecu= no problems ????



WHAT A PITA!

 

I have never done it, but i would assume that the ap2 ecu will be looking for some kind of signal with the throttle body which of course the ap1 tbody will not be giving. so a check engine light would be set. it seems like you have two options...

ap2 motor, ap2 harness, ap2 tbody, ap2 computer, ap1 car

or

ap2 motor, ap1 electronics including: ecu, harness, tbody etc. etc.

im sure there is better people to answer this then me, I am good with cars but very new to the s2k life.

 

MY05 is DBW? I thought it started in MY06.... ah AP1 FTW

I know people take a AP1 ECU with the 9k rev limiter and put it on an AP2 (MY04-05) and to the best of my knowledge it's plug and play.

So the question is:

Do you have your MY mixed up........?
or
Did you type the wrong MY


Best question is - What is the MY of the Motor and ECU? and....are you sure?

It may work if it's 05 and down.

 

why not just use the ap1 TB and ecu?
