Default Autronic SM4 for AP2? or?

Hi all, I'm considering tuning my AP2 with an Autronic SM4 and am wondering if anyone here who has any experience with a s2000 and tuned it with an Autronic ecu can share their experience and results with me.

What ecus here has everyone chosen and tuned their s2k with? Right now I'm considering Motec and Autronic, although I'm not sure which motec model suits the AP2.

And anyone with drive-by-wire encountered problems during tuning? I think it's gonna be a problem, how did you guys solve it? Got rid of DBW with a standard throttle? How much did that cost if so?

All the advice and recommendations before i step out and choose my ECU would be greatly appreciated!

Cheers, J.

75% of wrc uses autronic. they are a very good company and our tuner stands by it. but it is very costly. but with semi limited options for the DBW car you really only have a few to choose from otherwise you will be piggy backing.
if you can afford it go for it!

Consider MoTeC also?

Garage R does it there, or was it... ST or that company that brings in Toda parts in Singapore that does it. Also would a standalone pass LTA?

Edit:

Forgot to say why I mentioned MoTeC. I think in our region theres probably a higher familiarity with Motec with most tuners. You could buy the best standalone but it'll only be as good as the tuner, so going for the most familiar yet as close to the most powerful you can get would be the best idea.

Hmmm well i have heard about ST powered and Garage R, ill prolly ask them...

But what ECU are you guys running here on yer AP1/2? Piggyback or standalone...looking fer some inputs from s2k owners who have had their cars tuned on various ecus before i decide. I do agree that the tuner is prolly the most impt factor in tuning a car though...

http://www.autronic.com

Basically the story is that Motec started out first and then one of the partners left motec and started autronic. Both are reknowned to be some of the best standalone ECUs in the market. That is why the motec and autronic are similiar in many ways.
