ap1 tranny
my ap1 has 130k miles and just lost second gear with lots of noise rumbling around In the tranny when driven in 1st gear. noise mostly goes away for 3rd and up.
is my best option a rebuild or a used replacement? estimated cost of each with labor?
thanks in advanced.

is something like this a good option? I live in bumf@#k south dakota where nobody near by has used trannys so shipping is my only option.
Also, how hard is it to remove/install a tranny?

When I needed a transmission I checked with reputable salvage yards and was able to get one out of a low mileage wreck. I wanted to avoid transmissions from '00-01 models but did not want to pay the premium for an AP2 unit. The '02 I got for $500 was better than the one that came new in my '00 so it was a very good repair.
