Default AP1 vs. AP2 brake pads

Hi everyone,

im at the point where i need some new brakes. Question i ahve is, back in the day i read that the AP1 pads have less dust but the same performance as the ap2 pads and they will fit ap2's with no problems.

Is this true? can anyone confirm this for me?

note, i dont care about track pads or any of that crap i do drive spiritedly but the stockers seem fine. i care about a panic stop when a kid comes charging off the sidewalk right in front of me not bling.

AP1s are suppose to be lower dusting but have the same performance (or better) then the AP2 pads... I am not sure because when I changed my pads I went to a track style pad.

AP1 front pads have almost zero brake dust(AP1s and AP2s share the same rear pad). They don't seem to have the initial bite like the AP2 pads though.

And yes, AP1 pads will fit on an AP2.

I have put many AP1 pads on AP2 cars, and have tested them under hard conditions. Less dust, all good.

Supposedly Honda re-engineered the AP2 pads to work better at colder temps but I think the consensus is they all work fine for street use and AP1 is less dust.
